Amin Abdulhaq: Biography
An entrepreneur and investor whose story runs from phone trading in California to a connected portfolio of businesses in Cairo.
A Yemeni family, a professional life in Egypt
Amin Abdulhaq comes from a Yemeni family and has built his professional life largely in Egypt, where he is based in Cairo. He is the grandson of the late Yemeni businessman Shaher Abdulhak, a heritage he acknowledges while building a career of his own.
Entrepreneurship that began in California
His entrepreneurial journey started while he was studying in California. He sourced mobile phones, repaired or refurbished them and sold them internationally, an early introduction to sourcing, margins, refurbishment, international trade and resale. In the same period he explored entering the trucking industry in Los Angeles, but did not have the capital to establish it at the time. The full story is told on the journey page.
Coca-Cola: sales, business development and project management
After returning to Egypt, Amin began at Coca-Cola in sales in 2013, became Business Development Manager from April 2015 and later worked as Development Project Manager. He became the number-one salesperson in Cairo in 2016 and worked on operational ideas including cashless collections through Fawry, night-time truck loading and a hotspot-based distribution model using third-party transport. See the career page.
Building Aminco Car Services
While working at Coca-Cola, Amin built his first major business, Aminco Car Services. He sold his personal car to raise the initial capital of approximately EGP 300,000, and the business grew to a growth figure of approximately EGP 15 million within about 18 months. Rather than keeping it isolated, he reinvested profits into other opportunities, including logistics, trucking, construction, mobile car washing and automotive service vans.
An interconnected business portfolio
That reinvestment became a connected strategy: trucking and logistics, construction, mobile car washing, automotive service vans and automotive care, designed to share resources and customers. The operating businesses are Aminco Car Services (founded 2017) and Kingdom of Aminco (founded 2019), joined by a newer venture, Queen Sheba Honey, developed with his brother. Read the business portfolio.
Investments
Separately, Amin holds investment interests, including as a shareholder in STCO Group since January 2010, and in MAC Investments. See investment interests.
Competitive tennis
Amin began playing tennis in 2021. He has represented Yemen in the Davis Cup and reached a career-high ITF Masters Tour singles ranking of 412 on 17 March 2025. See the tennis page.
Family heritage, and a path of his own
The legacy of Shaher Abdulhak is part of Amin's background. His own record is his employment, the businesses he built, his investments and his sport; the heritage page keeps the two distinct.
